COMMUNITY REENTRY PROGRAMMING
Before release from prison, R.E.A.L. works with youth to set a reentry plan that fulfills their desires and needs for successful reentry. This includes gathering all necessary ID’s and coordinating a safe housing and employment plan.
In community, R.E.A.L. facilitates biweekly reentry healing circles, R.E.A.L. Talk political education circles in-person, monthly open court basketball gatherings, movie screenings, and book groups for youth who have been formerly incarcerated. These spaces similarly include an emphasis on the basic values of R.E.A.L. and due consideration to all safety concerns of youth joining each program.
